Visit to Selangor Family Aid Association

What can RM1.00 buy nowadays? Not even a piece of the humble roti canai. But , the many RM1.00 notes the CSR team collected enabled us to deliver packs of rice, beehoon, the much-loved Milo, eggs, vegetables, adult diapers, etc. to the Selangor Family Aid Association, a welfare home for aged and handicapped, located in Ulu Yam Bahru, Selangor.

The welfare centre is home to 107 residents of different races and ages and while many of us feel a tinge of sadness over their plight and abandonment, this is a place of refuge and a roof over their heads.

10 of us walked through the spacious and airy halls, handling a towel each to the residents, many of whom are thankful not only for our cottony gift but also our presence. We were at awe as well over the dedication and perseverance of the care-takers, who not only need to feed and assist the less-able but to provide a safe and somewhat comfortable sanctuary.

As we journeyed back to office, in our minds, the blessedness of RM1.00 should continue as we, Malaysians are never short in giving.
